About The Family

In December 2008, in search of a better life for her and her children, Carol Gene Parsons left her abusive husband and filed for divorce.  Carol began to slowly take control of her life.  While working she continued her pursuit of an Associates of Arts and Sciences degree from Clover Park Technical College and was expected to graduate in June 2010 (Phi Beta Kappa).

On March 17 2010, Carol was attending a counseling session with her ex-husband to help him move on with his life.  During the session her ex-husband shot and killed Carol.  He was arrested, jailed and charged with first degree murder.  He plead not guilty and is awaiting trial.

The lives of Carol’s children, Haley (12), Maxwell (10) and Kurt (6) have been forever changed.  They grieve the loss of both parents and at times the grief is overwhelming.  They take it one day at a time.  Their Grandmother, Roberta Hales and Great Aunt, Sister Carol Ann McMullen are providing a home for the children filled with love, security, trust and support.  While the family copes with the emotional toll of the tragedy they are dealing with the financial realities as well.  They are thankful for the support and prayers that have been offered by so many.
